Announcement of the adoption of the "Research and Development for the Expansion of Radio Resources to be Implemented from Fiscal Year 2025" by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications.

RAMXEED has submitted a proposal for the research and development aimed at the expansion of radio resources, in response to a public call by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, and has been accepted.
The theme to be implemented by our company is the technological challenge "Advanced technology for sensor terminal circuit architecture, etc." under the research and development project "Research and Development on Frequency Effective Utilization Technologies for the Advancement of Ambient IoT Systems." This project will be carried out over a three-year plan until 2027.

Overview of Research and Development Themes

1)Circuit technology that stabilizes the performance of sensor terminals, such as power supply capability to sensors and oscillation frequency, even under unstable power supply conditions caused by wireless power transmission.

2)Backscatter adaptive modulation circuit technology that enhances the transmission information rate per unit frequency.

Impact of research and development themes

The theme of this research and development is expected to have a significant impact on solving social issues and advancing industries.

The battery-less wireless sensor system, which includes actuation such as contact control, is attracting attention in the fields of machinery and infrastructure inspection. Traditionally, infrastructure inspections in high places and on slopes relied on visual observations, necessitating expensive scaffolding and specialized equipment. However, since the "Review of Analog Regulations Process" initiated in 2022, the digital transformation (DX) of inspections driven by the use of ICT for measurement and data utilization is accelerating, and the use of objective data from sensors is also becoming an effective means to address the shortage of maintenance technicians. Furthermore, as failures or malfunctions in infrastructure and machinery directly lead to operational or production shutdowns, there are growing expectations for predictive maintenance.
This research and development aim to meet these needs and contribute to the realization of a maintenance-free sensor system that eliminates the need for battery replacements or wiring. This will contribute to the reduction of infrastructure maintenance costs, the improvement of production efficiency, and the realization of a safer and more sustainable society.
